Sight-Reading
Sight-reading, or “reading at first sight,” is the ability to instantly read a piece of music that one has never seen before, without needing to think about it. This skill is comparable to reading a text in a language the reader masters.
Benefits of Good Sight-Reading:
- Quickly learn new pieces without spending hours on them.
- Musical work based on the musical text is accelerated thanks to constant visual contact with the score and its numerous annotations.
- The pianist is freed from the keyboard and can now focus on the music.
- Pianistic progress is multiplied.
