Roberta Michela

Roberta Michela has been passionate about the piano since early childhood. She completed her training at the Sion Cantonal Conservatory with highest honors under Barbara Borse and Mateo Creux. She then earned her Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s degree in instrumental pedagogy at the Haute école de musique de Genève in the class of Sylviane Deferne. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in performance under Louis Schwizgebel.

Laureate of several competitions such as the Swiss Youth Music Competition and the Riviera Competition, she was awarded the Wilsdorf Foundation’s Excellence scholarship in 2022 and has received guidance from renowned professors including Christian Favre, Edith Fischer, François Frédéric Guy, Pascal Godart, and Brigitte Bouthinon-Dumas.

She has performed throughout French-speaking Switzerland as a soloist, in four-hand duos, and in trios. Passionate about singing, which she has also practiced since childhood, she regularly collaborates with vocal ensembles and enjoys exploring the Lied repertoire, which she particularly loves.

Driven by a strong desire to share her knowledge, Roberta has been teaching piano to students of all ages since the age of 18. She has also worked as a substitute teacher at the Sion Cantonal Conservatory, the Geneva Conservatory of Music, and the Montessori Aquilae School in Geneva. Her teaching approach focuses on developing listening skills and musical expressiveness from the very first lessons, helping students discover the sonic possibilities of the instrument, awaken their curiosity, and explore the expressive dimension of music.
